Very frustrated.  Our flight home out of Albuquerque was cancelled, and it’s been impossible to get anyone from the airline on the phone to work out rebooking.  I’m finally in the hold queue, but it’s already been an eternity.  I’m just hoping at this point that I can get home before the end of the week.

  1. Yes, everything is a massive tangle because of the big storms.  We barely made it out of JFK on Thursday evening, but I didn’t think it would be all that problematic getting back tonight.

  2. What I ended up doing was booking the next available flight on the airline (JetBlue) while I was waiting trying to get through to someone.  If I’d thought to do that a little earlier I might have been able to get a ticket for Tuesday, but as it is I got the Wednesday redeye.  When I finally got through all they had was Thursday, but since I’d already booked they just did the switch and all’s well modulo ~70 minutes total on hold between two departments.

  3. That kind of road trip really isn’t feasible with a 17-month-old and only one adult.  That much driving is just dangerous on its own, especially given all the weather there’s been.  Mainly though, it wouldn’t get us home that much sooner and it would be a lot more disruptive and difficult for the little one.

  4. Mike Jurney yeah, cool, just thinking out loud. thought 17 month olds might have a relatively non daylight based sleep schedule and could endure a blast home. i’ll find out soon 😛

  5. Yeah just got the notice that tonight’s flight out of ABQ was canceled. We’ve got seats on Wed so we’ll be OK eventually, but this is a pretty serious snarl. Patrick Jurney had his flight this morning canceled due to late-arriving pilots, and can’t get anything else for at least a couple of days.
