So I’m still using Reader on my laptop from time to time, mostly just out of habit.  I’ve mostly converted to feedly, which keeps the reader item counts up to date, so it’s not like I’m losing any state or putting in extra effort.

I did just notice that I can’t post a reader item to G+ with the share button anymore.  I don’t know whether or not that’s an intentional part of the Reader shutdown process, but if it is… Classy.  Real classy.

  1. Newsblur seems to not work on my HTC One S. It says “Loading stories…” and then nothing happens.

Feedly’s interface is uncomfortable to me. Weeks later, I still keep closing it by accident.

  2. Tanya Reilly I still haven’t gotten past that problem with the interface.  As much as it’s just habit to hit the system “back” button, the one Feedly wants you to hit is all the way at the top of the screen.  It’s a reach for me, and I have reasonably large hands/long fingers.

  3. Ken Wehr I’ve been putting it through its paces this morning, and as much as anything I’m a little worried about the potential, with blurblogs and its own following graph, to become a ghetto.  I guess being able to op out to twitter mitigates that, but I’m not much of a twitter user so I can’t tell how much.
