I’ve seen a lot of debate about whether or not this was appropriate. Personally, I think that the President should use every tool he has to try and set the direction of the national discourse. I suspect a lot of people will come away from seeing this having thought about his policy priorities in a different way. That seems like honest, up-front politics to me.
