For the past couple weeks I’ve been working on a visualization of DDOS attacks.  This a collaboration between Google Ideas, my team at Google (Big Picture), and Arbor Networks, who are providing the data the powers the vis.

It’s like they read my mind.  The ratings agencies are poised to screw our AAA rating, babies are literally going hungry, vital research is going undone, at least one state already canceled its welfare program, and 90% of the news footage I see is about kids not getting to go to the zoo or barricades on the WWII memorial.

I really enjoyed JJ Abram’s take on Star Trek (so far, he’s doing OK in my book), but the fear of it being a Disney property is definitely strong in me.

If you haven’t seen this video yet, check it out. It’s very well done (animation is great, ideas are great, and it’s only 2 minutes long).

Optimistic for a great new trilogy! 🙂
