The first video game I really coveted was Final Fantasy on the NES.  I’d read (and re-read over and over) a pre-release article about it in Nintendo Power, and saved my pennies to buy it.  It was also the first game I went out and bought a Strategy Guide for, and I got immense pleasure from beating it.

Over the iterations they’ve done so many different things that it’s kind of hard to think of the franchise as a single entity, but after watching this trailer – which I think we can all agree appears to be almost entirely unlike any other Final Fantasy – it somehow still feels like FF.

I’m unreasonably excited to play FFXV.
