Searched for “space-themed blanket” on Google because my daughter saw one over the weekend and really wants one.

The very first result was “Kids Boy Bedding: Full/Queen Solar System Quilt”.  Nice, Land of Nod.  Real nice.

The Phantom Menace was Saruman, The Force Awakens was Gandalf The White.  The latter was the former, as it should have been.

Bedford and the Normalization of Deviance

It’s December 22nd I live in New York City, and I was just able to bike to work.  In shorts.

Tonight’s the winter solstice! This is a chance to perform one of my favorite science experiments, using nothing but a normal egg. 

Due to the tilt of the earth, tonight (and also during the summer solstice) are the only two nights of the year in which you can successfully hit an egg with a hammer without breaking its shell. It might sound crazy, but it’s true! Try it with your kids!
