So from what I can tell having seen the preview for the new Riddick trailer it’s the plot of Aliens except that instead of Space Marines they’re Bounty Hunters, and instead of Newt it’s Vin Diesel.
I don’t think I have much of a problem with that, to be honest.
A Pun Involving Travel 
Themes are cool in stories. It’s the interpretations and executions that make the diff.

Or keep the plot as much as it was, when the marines fail, they send Riddick in.

Maybe he’s Hicks, only instead of being confidant they are all going to die, he’s just confidant everyone else is going to die.
