I donate to an organization called Riverkeeper, which is trying to reestablish the wild oyster population here I the Hudson estuary. It’s great to see an article like this that documents some of their successes, and might raise the profile of the Oyster Situation just a bit.
If you haven’t read The Big Oyster, Mark Kurlansky’s book about the history of the relationship between North Americans and the North American Atlantic Oyster, I highly recommend it.
