It’s a little bit of a cheap shot to imagine placement in the works of Shakespeare. To start, the idea of brands and the mass-marketing of them is hilariously recent, but moreso because we really don’t have any idea how many incidental references to the local equivalent were made but didn’t stand the test of time.
That said, it’s interesting to think about what good product placement, like the ubiquity of Apple computers in 1990s movies, will look like in down the road.
