Theresa drove a manual BMW 135i convertible yesterday, I was kind of hoping she’d like it. Unfortunately she said “I can’t own that car, it’s way too fun. I’d have too many speeding tickets.” No turbos for me 😦
Before we found out about the baby, Jennifer Jurney and I were talking about exactly that car. We had to nix the idea because she’s got all these requirements about “safety” and “practicality” and “wanting to be able to put the baby in a car seat.” Did you get to drive it at all?
I was at an autocross setup in lot J at MetLife Stadium out in New Jersey. 3 laps each in the F430 and the Gallardo.
I did not drive that particular car, but we’ve been looking at 1 series and I’ve driven a few. Probably going to get a 128i convertible. Oddly enough I was fine with zoning out driving the civic hybrid to work, and Theresa is the one with the mid-life crisis mentality and “I need an impractical, fun car!!!”, but for some reason I’m not trying to restrain her…

Have you considered a Ferrari? They’re both impractical and fun…

Alas, also out of my price range 😦 Also, at least the non-turbo bmw isn’t as much of a maintenance nightmare.
