Is it just me, or does it feel very much like Chris Brown won the Grammy for “We’ve invested too much into this act to let the whole he-beat-the-crap-out-of-someone-who-trusted-him thing go on any longer”?

I’m kind of boggled the public tunes in to award shows like this, actually. I suppose there could be some crazy moment, but people always have the video the next day…
Yes, yes, someday I will be Legendary Curmudgeon. Someday very soon I suppose.

Jennifer Jurney and I were both interested in seeing whether and to what extent Adele (girl’s got pipes) had recovered from her ruptured larynx. This was to be her first public performance, so we watched along. There were some good, mostly bad, all eye-rolling-at-the-music-industry moments. Generally though, it was interesting to see that the most sugary pop nonsense seems to have migrated to the internet full-time, and this year’s show at least had mostly very talented singers… singing.
