One thing that I don’t feel is being expressed enough in the comments people are making when they share links is the extent to which SOPA/PIPA would require everyone who plays a part in making the Internet available to essentially build extra infrastructure solely for the purpose of taking down content that someone finds objectionable.
The danger, as we’ve seen already in the telecom industry both here in the US and abroad, is that once this infrastructure is in place it will be extended, and it will be abused.
